Jon H. HoemJon H. Hoem
CEO


Jon was part of the founding team of Miracor in May 2008. He has 25 years experience in advanced medical device development and international sales&marketing in cardiology and cardiac surgery. Jon started his medical device career in 1988 with Prof. Bjørn Angelsen after completing his high-speed electronics MSc degree in Trondheim, Norway. In 1990 he joined Vingmed Sound developing single- and multiplane transesophageal probes for ultrasound cardiac imaging. From 1994 to 2005 he filled various positions in Medi-Stim, a medical device start-up focusing on quality assurance of coronary bypass procedures. These positions included international sales&marketing manager launching Medi-Stim’s products in Europe and Japan. After obtaining 510(k) clearance in 1999 and signing the US distribution agreement with Medtronic he moved to Minneapolis building Medi-Stim’s US operations. Medi-Stim completed a successful IPO in 2003. In 2005 he joined AtriCure and introduced their cardiac surgery devices for atrial fibrillation in Europe.


Ludwig GoldLudwig Gold
CFO/COO



Ludwig has several years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries working as CFO/COO for Austrian-based subsidiaries of multinational companies. In his most recent position as CFO/COO for Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services Group, Ludwig had full P&L responsibility for the company operating in the international process industry. In his position, he negotiated international contracts with pharmaceutical companies (e.g., Sanofi-Aventis, Genzyme); was responsible for the Accounting, Controlling, Legal, Risk Management, Treasury, Procurement, Personnel and IT departments; developed and implemented the overall financial strategy for the company; optimized Supply Chain Management through new contract negotiations, process optimization and training; and led change management processes towards an internationalization strategy. Ludwig holds a master’s degree in International Business Administration.


Lars SchiemanckLars Schiemanck
CTO


Lars has 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. After graduation from the Technical University of Eindhoven, the Netherlands where he studied medical electrical engineering and information technology he worked as a lead embedded software engineer for a company designing and building high tech computer controlled industrial machines. He was asked by Prof. Reiber from the Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands to join his Laboratory for clinical and experimental image processing where he became responsible for the group of researchers in the field of cardiovascular Image processing. This university research group as a whole commercialized into Medis medical imaging systems BV, a company that has developed the leading software products for angiography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in cardiology. Lars acted as Operational Manager of the company for 5 years before he became Vice President corporate technology and support. He has been responsible for research, development, technical as well as commercial challenges in various leading roles within Medis before joining Miracor.


Dr. Roger KesselsDr. Roger Kessels
Clinical Director



Roger has 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry working in clinical research as well as national and international sales & marketing positions.

His career in clinical research started in 2003 when he joined Medtronic as Senior Scientist and Clinical Research Manager at the Medtronic Bakken Research Institute in the Netherlands. He was involved in preclinical as well as clinical research as a scientist and later managed the research group.

Before he joined Miracor, Roger worked for Vessix Vascular Inc. as their Clinical Research Manager. He was responsible for the clinical activities for the Vessix renal denervation technology in Europe. Vessix was acquired by Boston Scientific in November 2012.

Roger studied Biology at the University in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and he holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
