Jon H. Hoem
CEO, MSc
Jon joined Miracor in May 2008 with 20 years experience in advanced medical device development and international sales&marketing in cardiology and cardiac surgery. He started his medical device career in 1988 with Prof. Björn Angelsen after completing his electronics MSc degree in Trondheim, Norway. In 1990 he joined Vingmed Sound developing single- and multiplane transesophageal probes for ultrasound cardiac imaging. From 1994 to 2005 he filled various positions in Medi-Stim, a medical device start-up focusing on quality assurance of coronary bypass procedures. These positions included international sales&marketing manager launching Medi-Stim’s products in Europe and Asia. After obtaining 510(k) clearance for their devices in 1999 and signing the US distribution agreement with Medtronic he moved to Minneapolis building Medi-Stim’s US operations. In 2005 he joined AtriCure and introduced their cardiac surgery devices for atrial fibrillation in Europe.
Martin Stapf
CFO/COO, Dr. Mag.
Martin started his career in the Institut für Gewerbeforschung of the Vienna Business School. After his graduation he joined Ratio Consulting and then ÖGEFA Consulting in Vienna. Next step was a two years experience as international sales manager for Johann Laska & Son’s responsible for North- and South America. In 1988 he joined Global Refund Ltd. as sales manager in Austria. One year later he became the Managing Director and in 1992 Managing Director of Germany. After building the East European Country Markets in the 90s his next step was Group Senior Vice President for Central- and East Europe. After two years of Group Sales Manager he finished his Global Refund career in 2006. He joined Prof. Mohl in 2007 and supported him with business plans and finance issues. In May 2008 he became CFO in Miracor.
Olaf Nitz
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Manager
Olaf worked many years with his mechanical engineering background for Mettler Toledo’s manufacturing department. He developed production strategy (high speed cutting in aluminum) and was responsible for production transfers from the US to Switzerland. He started his medtech career with Swisstronics as project manager and sales&marketing representative for medical devices (ultrasound, anesthesia and neonatology). He strengthened his experience with Synthes one of the top three orthopedics companies where he was product manager for Class III products in the field of cranio-maxillofacial. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from ITA Zurich and is currently completing his Master of Science Thesis at GSBA Zurich.
Oliver A. Kohr
CTO, Dr. (PhD)
Oliver joined the Miracor Team in August 2009 with more than 20 years of experience in medical device design. After completing his studies at Stuttgart University in Germany, he received a Fulbright Scholarship for studies at the Michigan Technological University. Oliver has worked for more than 10 years at leading universities such as Stanford University, Medical School Hannover and University of Hannover where he earned his PhD degree. He then joined Ionto-Comed as Technical Director developing various new devices for skin- and muscle-treatment. He rebuilt Ionto-Comed’s R&D-department and restructured their manufacturing processes. In 1998 he joined the Klaschka Company Group establishing a new medical device division focused on technologies for electro stimulation. His team developed class 2a and 2b medical devices for neuromuscular stimulation, low-power lasers, customer specific sensors and a system for skin perforation. He also led various research projects with leading research institutions such as the European Space Agency (ESTEC). In 2008 he joined Schaerer Medical, where he developed a new system for minimal invasive hip surgery and contributed to a successful turn-around.
